Chief Programs & Operations Officer (Associate Executive Director)

Description:Established in 2000, JED is a national nonprofit protecting emotional health and preventing suicide for teens and young adults. Impacting over 2.5 million college students annually, JED is positioned to expand their influence as a thought leader through strategic expansion into high schools, and doubling the colleges participating as partners to strengthen their mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention programs and systems. JED's programs equip teens and young adults with the skills and knowledge to help themselves and each other, and encourages community awareness, understanding and action for young adult mental health.
Duties:Chief Programs & Operations Officer (Associate Executive Director)

Reporting to the Executive Director, this newly created role provides an exceptional opportunity to be a driver of solutions for an urgently compelling need/mission. The Chief Programs & Operations Officer will participate in the development of JED's strategic plan, and be responsible for the execution and management of the plan, the success of JED programs and the effectiveness of internal operations, as well as serve as Associate Executive Director. Qualifications:Requirements of the role include:

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University; advanced degree preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of success leading teams and implementing programs with measurable impact.
• Significant experience in leadership positions managing enterprise-wide operations and diverse, cross-disciplinary teams.
• A history of launching successful initiatives, including managing change and ensuring target attainment through resource allocation and continuous monitoring/adjustments to ensure objectives are met.
• Proven and progressive experience in obtaining and managing contracts & grants and adhering to the requirements that ensure ongoing funding support.
• A high level of Emotional Intelligence or Social IQ with demonstrated track record of influencing, collaborating and affecting change through others.
• Proven ability to challenge, motivate and partner with an executive leadership team to foster innovation and lead change in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
• Impeccable written and oral communication and relationship building skills; ability to effectively communicate JED’s mission, vision, values and impact to internal and external audiences.
• Skill in preparing written reports and presentations and presenting in front of live audiences.

Knowledge of and experience working in secondary and/or higher education systems, and knowledge of mental health and public health fields is helpful, but not required.
