Dental Assistant (Oral Surgery Office)

Location:Ann Arbor, MI
Salary Range:$16/hour or commensurate with experience

Description:Our client, Michigan Oral Surgeons, has an opportunity for a full-time Dental Assistant to join their team in their Ann Arbor and Plymouth locations. (Time is split between these two locations.)

The Dental Assistant will be responsible for providing surgeons with consistent and quality clinical assistance. They will continually provide outstanding patient-customer service and ensure the clinical environment is safely prepared and maintained for patient care.

Duties:Direct Patient Care:
-Obtain vital signs
-Provide pre-operatory instructions
-Obtain radiographs
-Obtain impressions, pour models
-Draw appropriate medications
-Assist Doctor with surgical procedures
-Review post-operative instructions with the patient
-Address patientís general questions
-Discharge patient
-Conduct patient post-operative telephone inquiry
-Complete suture removal or dressing changes
-Comply with regulatory compliance protocols

Indirect Patient Care:
-Sterilize instruments
-Rotate and replenish operatory supplies
-Maintain autoclave, processor, and suction reservoir
-Maintain patient rooms, hallway and waiting room
-Maintain an adequate stock of medical, surgical and dental
supplies; record receipt of such items
-Initial and date all invoices as verification of receipt
-Telephone prescription medication orders to pharmacy
-Provide front office support, as needed
-Utilize spare time effectively to benefit team and P.C.
Qualifications:-High School Diploma or equivalent
-CDA or RDA credential or a minimum of one year of experience at a dental or oral specialty practice
-Radiography Certification or eligible
-Job role requires prolonged walking, standing, stooping and reaching
-Regular and predictable attendance
