Program and Communication Coordinator (Nonprofit)

Description:Our client, NEW: Solutions for Nonprofits, is seeking a full-time Program & Communication Coordinator to join their team.

The Program & Communication Coordinator reports to the COO & VP of Strategy and works closely with the organizational development and administrative teams as well as external parties.
• Assist with internal NEW meetings
• Support and assist organizational development consultants and other NEW staff members (preparation for sessions, scheduling, ordering supplies/food, document/report creation, entering client communications and proposals into CIVI)
• Answering incoming calls and web inquiries to NEW and (a) directing them to the proper department, (b) learning about their needs and informing consultants, or (c) providing them with the information and/or resources that they are looking for.
• Data & client communication entries (SurveyMonkey, Excel, CiviCRM)

Program Coordination
• Assistance with leadership program(s) and workshop logistics (scheduling, catering, data entry, program planning).
• Communication with leadership program(s) and workshop participants (reminders, touch bases, follow ups, Facebook posts).
• Preparation, setup, and breakdown of leadership program(s) and workshop sessions.

Marketing & Outreach
• Management of NEW’s social media presence.
• Curation and production of monthly newsletter.
• Work with web developer to update and improve website.
• Design work and/or activating a designer for marketing materials
• Creating and disseminating press releases.
Qualifications:Though not required, a four year degree within a field related to the nonprofit sector is desired. Individuals pursuing degrees may also be considered. Coursework or other forms of experience in the realms of project management, team communication, and marketing & outreach are highly preferred.

Work Experience & Competencies:
Prior Work Experience (1 year or more of the following)
• Involvement in an administrative support role.
• Background of working closely with a team of 4-6 people.
• Experience answering phones and connecting individuals to resources.
• Knowledge of, or experience working within, the nonprofit sector.

Technical Competencies
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data entry.
• Writing, telephone, and further communication/customer service skills.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and scheduling tools.
• A light knowledge of design applications (Adobe Applications) is helpful.

Behavioral Competencies
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to start, jump in to assist, and finish projects.
• Adaptability.
• A desire and commitment to ongoing learning.
• Comfort with seeking out resources, assistance, etc.
