|Description:||Honey Creek Community School was founded in 1995 with support from the Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD). Honey Creek has grown from a K-2 charter school with 33 students to a fully staffed K-8 charter school with 250 students and a lengthy waiting list of families eager to attend. Honey Creek Community School was founded out of the community and emphasizes and maintains our relationship and connection with the community. The response from the community to Honey Creek is overwhelmingly positive as evidenced by the strong participation of our parents in school activities. Our project based, thematic, integrated curriculum, small class sizes and strong student-teacher relationships illustrate our uniqueness as a charter school. |Duties:||Teaches skills in physical fitness, team sports, swimming and health. Plans/executes a balanced physical education program and organizes class time so that preparation, practice and|
instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the physical education curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
Encourages students to develop personal wellness practices to the greatest extent possible.
Utilizes a variety of activities to engage students in physical fitness development appropriate for the ages and skill levels of pupils.
Maintains care/responsibility of equipment to prevent loss
or abuse. Requests replacement equipment or repairs to equipment as required.
Evaluates each pupilís growth in fitness and skill development.
Communicates with parents and school staff on individual studentís progress.
Participate in school improvement efforts and plans.
|Qualifications:||Candidates must have a valid Teaching Certificate and meet qualifications for Physical Education (MB)/Health Education (MA). SWI certification is a plus.|
This is a full-time position.
Candidates must be qualified to teach K-8 Physical Education and Swim.
